The 7 archetypal Yin Yoga poses and their variations to suit every student. – Paul Grilley
Every archetype symbolises a target area. It gives you the function of the pose and nót an idea of how a pose should look like.
The 7 Archetypal Poses are:
- Shoelace
- Saddle
- Caterpillar
- Dragonfly
- Dog
- Twist
- Dragon
In this post i will go over these 7 archetypes explaining what their function is, what you need to do to create tension or compression and give you a few alternatives as no 2 persons will be able to do the same pose. This should give you the idea that you can explore in a pose, keep the target area in mind and not the position you should be in.
