An End To The Negative Relationship To Stress
All tissues in our body react to the addition of stress. Stress is neccesary to keep the body healthy, supple and mobile like stress works in our brain when we do a math test. Counting from our heads is stressing our brain to keep information stored and to remember things more easily the next time we come to a same situation.
The negative energetic load that the word stress has in our society is not fair. The amount or kind of stress we use will make all the difference. Generally taken you could say that when we add the word too to it, it will not work the way it should. If you’re too active you’ll overload the muscles and joints while not using stress at all or too little the muscles will weaken and you’ll loose mobility. You could think for example about someone who needs to rehabilitate in bed or astraunouts who loose muscle density because there wasn’t any resistance to work with.
It is useful to know that muscles can only do one thing, make a contraction. The stress we use to strengthen muscles is considered Yang. It requieres some effort to keep the tension which will influence certain segments in our body with movement or change of position.
As much as the body needs to be strong it also needs to be mobile, fluid and easy in movement. Our bodies exist out of more components than muscles and those other tissues need a different kind of stress. Yin Yoga can be useful to add to your practice.
